It's the player not the racquet.

"It's the player not the racquet" I heard that phrase from an older guy that I respect as a tennis player when I asked him "What kind of racquet do you think I should buy?". I think prior to the early 80s that phrase would be 100 percent correct.
Now with all the new technology put into these newer racquets and strings That famous phrase is not so true anymore. Now don't get me wrong It is still the player that's most important But then seriously ask yourself if you had all the strokes down and the timing and was fundamentally sound in your tennis game could you honestly say you could pick up a 25 dollar racquet from walmart and hit like you do with your regular racquet ? I don't think so You would have to play with that racquet for a long period of time to adjust.
So people don't get discouraged if some guy holding a 1980 pro kennex tells you "It's not the racquet it's the player" let him talk and have fun finding the racquet for you. But be ready because when you bring that new racquet to the courts and you play that guy be sure he is going to give it his all to beat you :) .
For anyone looking for a racquet this is a good web site tenniswarehouse.com and remember don't get to carried away with the equipment its hard I know I myself get pretty crazy with it and have to stop myself :)
